A:  Custom Painting, Inc. has been in the business since 1982 and serves the Bay Area including Dublin, Livermore, San Ramon, and Pleasanton.

Q: Are you insured, licensed, and bonded?

A: Custom Painting, Inc. has all the necessary credentials to support our authentication. Our state contractor license number is 512717. Check out our current license status at the state contractor’s board website https://www.cslb.ca.gov/. You can also see there that we are bonded and insured. We are also listed on the Better Business Bureau https://bbb.org to confirm our license number.

Q: Do you provide references?

A: Yes, we provide several local references upon request.

Q: Do you provide a free estimate?

A: We don’t charge a fee to provide an estimate for your paint job. Call us at 925-294-8062 to schedule a visit to your Dublin, CA property, or complete an online form for a free estimate.

Q: How long does it take to paint our house, apartment, condominium, etc.?

A: A standard residential paint job will take as little as 4 to 5 days, and the prep work takes most of the project.

However, every job is unique. For example, a standard two-bedroom apartment will take around 2 to 5 days, but bigger homes will obviously take longer – approximately 2 to 3 weeks. Some projects take even months to be completed, depending upon the size and the amount of painting to be done.

Q: Will I receive a warranty for my paint job?

A: Yes. We guarantee satisfaction within reason on all our paint jobs for one year. If you prefer a longer warranty, extended warranties are also available. We also offer a one-year warranty for all surfaces. 

Q: How will you protect my property, including my personal belongings, from paint?

A: In interior painting, we only ask our customers to remove framed pictures or painted artworks, light window treatments, curtains or drapes, lighting fixtures, and small knick-knacks from the wall before we arrive in your home. Our crew will do the other prep work, including protecting your furniture. Once we finish painting, we will return the furniture to its original location.

When we paint the exterior, we protect shrubs, flower beds, and surrounding areas from paint by covering them with drop cloths or plastic sheeting.

Q: How soon do you begin my project?

A: Custom Painting, Inc. performs services on a first-come-first-serve basis. Once we start your project, we will work on it until the work is completed.

Q: Who supervises the projects?

A: Custom Painting, Inc. has fully trained and experienced foremen to supervise every project we do. 

Q: During which time of the year, season, or weather conditions should I have my house painted?

A: The San Francisco Bay Area, including Dublin, generally has a mild climate all year round, so we can usually paint any time of the year. It may be easier to paint during the wet season than in the summer. The (in)famous San Francisco Fog, which usually occurs during the summer months (July and August), can impede our paint job, especially the exterior paint job. It can be challenging to paint outside in these foggy conditions, particularly in the morning. Without warning, the fog rolls in and thickens, ruining a day’s work. 

On the other hand, we can have paint projects more often in the rainy season. We can predict the forthcoming rain, which will help us plan our projects accordingly.

Q: Will I feel confident to leave my home while your painting crew works?

A: Absolutely. Most customers we work for are away while the painting project is ongoing. While you are away at work, running errands, or taking a day off, our paint crew will focus on their work. They will be busy painting. We are licensed, bonded, and fully insured, so you can confidently leave your home while we paint it.

Q: What type of paint brand do you use?

A: We purchase the paint we use on every project from the Kelly-Moore Paint Company. We can also use any brand if the customer requests it.

Q: How many new coats of paint do you apply?

A: We generally apply two coats of paint in our projects. Two coats of paint are enough to adequately hide surface imperfections and make the paint job last longer.

Q: What is involved in a paint consultation?

A: Custom Painting, Inc. has painting consultants who can help you find a new trendy paint style or optimal ways to incorporate conventional paints and methods. At our consultation service, we discuss the type of service you want for your home and the painting process, estimated time, and budget.
